Beautiful old Mauritanian "amber" single bead. Butterscotch color. Large rounded disk. 42x28mm.  37 grams.  These beads are highly prized and traded in Africa and are seldom pure amber or copol, but more often a blend of amber, copol, binding agents and plastics. Beads of this composition have been traded in Africa for over 100 years.
