This is a fabulous bead. Hollow silver metal with turquoise and dark blue, red, green and gold enamel. On two sides are the cut out longevity symbol with the striking contrasting colors. On two sides are the double happiness symbol. The holes on each end are ringed with a floral design with green border. Intricate enamel work. 15mm.
These beads were produced in the 1970s as close reproductions of a 19th century bead used in Mandarin court necklaces. They are very high quality that is far superior to the enamel work on being produced today.
