Antique Ottoman silver Islamic prayer box amulet. Meant to hold a prayer scroll. Late 19th century. Niello criss cross design. Niello is a black compound of silver sulfur and other metals used like enamel. 3 rings on top to use as bails. 5 rings on bottom to hang coins or charms. From a collector's estate. 2.8 inches in length by .6 inches in diameter. Excellent condition.
