Rare old Naga tribal cobalt blue glass bead necklace. nlet817cs

This is a rare old authentic Nagaland necklace worn in abundance by both men and women of the Konyak Naga's in Northeastern India. The necklace has 54 strands of translucent cobalt blue glass beads that glow when light shines on them. Each strand has 1.5 inches of multi-colored beads at the center many of which any of which are old Venetian whiteheart beads. The closure is a large Naga conch shell button toggle.

The threading of each strand is gathered into the woven cotten panels at each end. The beads at each end of the necklace are more Venetian red white hearts. Total length of necklace is 25 inches. Weight is approximately 400 grams. Excellent, wearable condition.
