Pietersite is a chalcedony with embedded fibers of other minerals. The fibers cause a chatoyancy similar to that seen in tiger's eye. Pietersite has recently become popular in jewelry because of its interesting colors and structure. Pietersite colors include blue, rusty red, gold and brown.
