Old Chinese opaque lilac color glass bead. 25x28mm. 4mm holes. These beads date from the early to mid 20th century. These very large beads were often used as counterweights to table cloths. They weigh in at 31 grams. In good condition for their age with a few fleabites here and there. Very rare. Sold individually.
These beads are popularly called Peking glass but are not true Peking glass. These have the soft colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass. Before 1911, a finer version of the beads of this type were used in Mandarin Court jewelry.
We are very excited to have acquired these gorgeous beads. These are very difficult to find and we have limited quantities.
