Chinese glowing translucent berry jam red wound glass "Peking Glass" beads. Spectacular luminous color! Being handmade, each bead is slightly different in shape and size, 19-22mm, 3.75-4mm stringing hole.  These wound beads were likely made in Boshan, Shandong province in China. Before 1911, beads of this type were used in Mandarin Court jewelry.  These beads are popularly called Peking glass but are not true Peking glass. These have the distinctive soft gemstone colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass. Package of 1.
