This estate jadeite bead necklace features a stunning pendant made from natural red and green jadeite. The pendant was carved from a block of jade in which the artist was able to carve the dragon in relief from the background that was the outer edge or “rind”. The dragon was carved from the green area of the jade with the reddish brown rind as a background. The necklace is composed of 9 mm jade beads in natural colors, ranging from pale to darker green with subtle red accents, each individually knotted on silk thread. The clasp and bail are made of sterling silver. The necklace measures 22 inches in length, while the pendant is 2 inches by 1.1 inches and 0.2 inches thick.

The pendant was acquired from the estate of an antique jewelry collector and has been artfully incorporated into this necklace.
