The flap opens to a single compartment designed for storing valuables or coins, originally intended to hang from a belt. It measures 4.5 x 3 x 1.25 inches. While it resembles Mechang flint pouches used for starting fires during travel, this pouch does not include a flint panel. The bottom showcases four dangling "leaf" or "spade" charms on chains, which would have jingled during travel to help ward off negative spirits.
