Tibetan leather pouch with repousse gilt and silver metal mounts, featuring coral and turquoise stones, from the early 20th century. The flap opens to a single compartment designed for storing valuables or coins, originally intended to hang from a belt. It measures 4.5 x 3 x 1.25 inches. While it resembles Mechang flint pouches used for starting fires during travel, this pouch does not include a flint panel. The bottom showcases four dangling "leaf" or "spade" charms on chains, which would have jingled during travel to help ward off negative spirits.
This piece is in excellent condition and can be worn as a distinctive and functional pouch.
