This pin is an excellent example of Aesthetic period Victorian jewelry circa 1880s. Tiny rings of twisted wire decorate the surface of the pin. The pin has been forged from multiple pieces of hand worked brass that comes together in an elegant and ornate design. The brass has a patina consistent with age that adds to the depth and beauty of the design. Excellent condition. Measures 2 1/4 inches.
I really like the matrices in Hubei turquoise and these don't disappoint. The range of colors is really nice. I have combined these beads with shell heishi (also available from Earthly Adornments), silver and carnelian, the result is stunning (friend's opinion). Next project will be with citrine and brass. They are very versatile.
This is the second or third time I have purchased this bead. It is very unique and works well with lots of colors and styles. I made a bracelet last month with several of these beads in it. I did not even get a chance to list the bracelet, someone bought it off my arm (I test drive my pieces).
I highly recommend it as I do working with Earthly Adornments - they are professional, very helpful and knowledgeable. They have an excellent supply of vintage and antique beads.
