1800's Jewelry
The jewelry during this age of discovery brought us the "revival" of earlier periods like the Egyptian revival starting around 1860's and influenced by excavations near the Nile. Classical Greek and Etruscan styles were revived by the "rediscovery" of the ancient use of granulated gold, and ancient coins, and the Renaissance revival were reminiscent of days of war and romance. Classical Greek, Etruscan, Neo Classical, Sentimental and Mourning jewelry (Momento Mori) and the Aesthetic movement all stemmed from this era.
