Freshwater Biwa style rectangular pearl, 12-21mm, Vintage 1990s. 9" str, Pkg1. b15-PRL155

These pearls are Biwa style baroque rectangular tablet pearls which have thick nacre with great luster. They are white freshwater pearls that range in size about 12-21mm wide and approximately 8mm from hole to hole. Package of 29 pearls (approximately a 9" strand).  These pearls were produced in the early heyday of Chinese pearl production 20-30 years ago. At that time rigorous standards required good pearl nacre thickness and good luster.
