Offering a rare rolled yellow and rose gold Victorian period locket or pill box. The locket has beautiful decorative embossing around its border and and an attached floral spray of yellow and rose gold leaves with a ruby glass prong set stone in the center. It also has a compartment on the back for that is oversized for a photo. Perhaps it was meant to to be used for perfume, pills, poweder. It is an exquisite and detailed piece of jewelry from the 1800's The hallmark is For W.S. Blackinton Company Founded in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1865 by Brothers William and Sumner Blackinton. The Company Moved to Providence, RI. The locket has a bail for a ribbon or chain. Locket dimensions are 1-3/4 x 1-1/4 x 5/8 inches. The locket compartment snaps shut securely. There is some minor wear to the gold finish commensurate with its age
