Necklace of  hand cut graduated natural carnelian agate beads, India. 1960s. Each bead is individually knotted with crimson threads. The thread ends are attractively tightly wrapped with gold thread. No clasp.  Fits easily over the head.  27 inches in length.  Bead sizes are 7mm to 16mm.  Necklace is in pristine condition.

The colors in these beads are wonderful.  Altogether they display an array of color gradients: Oranges, milky white. light lavender, brown; and the hand cut shapes are just irregular enough to give the necklace an ancient look.
