Availability: 1 in stock
A sensational necklace that incorporates an antique Meiji period Japanese Kagamibuta netsuke with vintage Chinese carved turquoise beads and sterling silver chain. The netsuke is a high relief silver metal dragon set in a smooth carved round ivory bowl. This netsuke was likely to have been attached to a tobacco pouch. From the bottom hangs a fringe of carved turquoise beads. The netsuke hangs from a chain of sterling silver and carved turquoise beads and has a sterling box clasp. This piece came from the estate of a collector of Asian jewelry. While the netsuke dates from the 19th century, the necklace was assembled in the 1960's to 1970's. The circumference of the necklace measures 15 1/4 inches. The kagamibuta toggle measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches in thickness. The silver chain from the netsuke to the bottom of the turquoise fringe is 2 inches long. This very unique necklace is a head turner. You'll not find another like it.
