Antique Satsuma ceramic pendant in gold wash sterling silver setting with hand painted silk ribbon and hook closure. The Japanese Satsuma pendant is in a crest shaped gilded silver setting. A few minor dings and scratches on the back. It has the characteristic cream color and fine crackle in the glaze. The enamel work is really fine flowers and foliage. A gold enamel border with completes the composition. 1-5/8 x 1-5/8 inches. Excellent condition. The ribbon with closure is 16 1/2 inches On the back is a stamp of the Shimazu mon, a circle with a cross which was the family crest of the clan the ruled Satsuma Han.
