Antique Chinese silver necklace with Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 ) amulets The elaborate enameled pendant has 4 connected sections, one of which is a scent box that has a scholar's box on one side and a 3 legged toad on the other. The hanging has two beautiful pieces of red coral at the top and the bottom. At the base of the necklace are two silver baskets each from which hang a gilt silver moth with a malachite leaf. Following are beads of silver, coral, Malachite and Turquoise and silver chain with a hook.

Circumference of necklace is 31 inches.
The silver components test from coin silver to sterling silver.

This is an antique piece from the dynasty that fell in 1911. In the 1970s to the mid 1980s, Chinese workers added beads, cords and chains to these Qing Dynasty artifacts. For the most part the beads and knots attached to this amulet were added during this period. This piece came from the estate of a dealer who acquired many of these artifacts. They have become increasingly rare and today, some reproductions of much poorer quality are being produced
