Antique Chinese opaque wound glass "Peking Glass" beads. Early 1900s. Being handmade, each bead varies slightly in shape and size. 8x10-+8x11mm. 2mm stringing hole. Package of 6. Imported in the 1920s by China Trading Company in Seattle. These wound beads were likely made in Boshan, Shandong province in China. Before 1911, beads of this type but more finely made were used in Mandarin Court jewelry.

These beads are popularly called Peking glass but are not true Peking glass. These have the distinctive soft gemstone colors and bubbles of old Chinese glass made in Boshan, Shandong province in China.
