Vintage multistrand blue turquoise and yak bone necklace
Availability: 1 in stock
A stunning and bold artisan created necklace from the 1970's. Five strands of natural color blue turquoise nugget beads with bone disks and beads in a festoon style drape are connected to an extraordinary deep and open carved bone amulet depicting a Tibetan deity. The strands terminate in a silver filigree box clasp. The turquoise is fine quality and natural in color. The carver of the centerpiece used the natural shape of the bone resulting in a slightly concave shape. The deity is carved in in deep relief with stain in the crevices to add definition. This piece comes from the estate of an antique jewelry dealer/collector and dates from the 1970s. Definitely a one of a kind statement piece sure to turn heads. The inner circumference of the necklace measures 17-1/2 inches. The pendant measures 2-1/4 by 1-1/4 inches.
