Earrings made from antique Norwegian silver buttons converted to posts. Each earring has an image in repoussé of an 18th century gentleman on a horse. One is carrying a French Horn. The other a riding crop. One of the buttons is hallmarked BM. Earrings are slightly domed and hollow on the back. They measure 1 inch in diameter. There is no silver hallmark on these earrings but they test for silver content above 800. They are probably around 835 which was common for Scandinavian silver. These earrings were acquired from the estate of a jewelry collector. Her daughter told me that she had purchased the buttons many years ago and had them converted to earrings.
