Rare Vega Maddox earrings, composed of sterling silver with enamel, black onyx and jadeite. 2-3/4 x 3/4 inches. The bezels on the front are gold wash over sterling while the back plate is sterling silver.

Vega Maddox was a Southern California jewelry designer in the 1960s and 1970s. Her whimsical jewelry is multi-dimensional and very sought after.

Vega's jewelry is most often large, sometimes massive. This is an unusually petite pair of earrings. They were acquired by a dealer's estate who was a friend of Vega's. The sterling silver ear wire is not original to the earrings. These earrings are in pristine, uncirculated condition.
