pdja721gh-Vintage semi-translucent nephrite jade moth pendant

Carved in white nephrite jade, this large vintage pendant depicts a moth in flight, a favorite theme of Chinese jade carvers. Both sides of each wing is incised with radiating lines and cross-hatching giving subtle depth and detail the polished white jade surface. The jade is 1/2 inch thick and 3-3/8 x 2-7/8 inch in width and length. . At the very top is a small fragment of the original vintage silk cord. This carving came from the estate of a collector who acquired it in China in the 1950s.
