Earthly Adornments - nlbd951-1920s Ballottini bead necklace

Strand of ballotini beads from 1920s Gablonz in lavaliere style. 22 inches in length plus 2.5 inches. Beginning in the 1920s, Gablonz jewelry makers used tiny glass balls, or ballottini, fused onto wood beads which creates a glowing reflective surface. These beads are in the marbled or pulled style of the 1920s and are quite rare. These beads have some loss of the tiny glass balls on the surface but are very good for their age and have a wonderful sheen.
