This is an amazing old tribal hinged bangle anklet or bracelet, massive in size but sized moderately for wrist or ankle size. The top is high content silver and the rest is a mix of silver, and brass. Very typical for tribal pieces. The top is hollow and has a horseshoe shaped makers chop on the inside. The bangle is also hollow.

The bracelet is hinged at the back with a removable threaded pin that closes tightly and is easy to insert and remove. The inside of the bangle is smooth rounded silver, quite comfortable while the outside has scale like spikes and beading.

The inner dimensions of this bangle is 2-3/8 x 2-1/4 inches, The large silver face is 3-1/2 inches wide by 3 inches, Weights 184 grams.

This piece came from the estate of a woman who traveled extensively in the middle east and Asia in the 1950s - 1970s, and who collected fabulous ethnic jewelry in her travels. This piece is Rajasthani and date from the early 20th century.

The condition is very good, sturdy and very wearable.
