Art Deco Jewelry
Art Deco jewelry featured dramatic combinations of materials and high contrast such as the ever popular silver, onyx and marcasite jewelry. Geometric shapes were very popular due to the influence of Cubism. Czech glass necklaces with triangular or rectangular shaped pendants were all the rage. Skirts went up and flapper necklaces were long often with beaded tassels. Art Deco hat ornaments adorned cloche style hats and belt buckles of plastics, enamels and rhinestones were popular.

King Tut's tomb was discovered in 1922 which incited a craze for the Egyptian motifs such as the scarab and the sphinx found in Egyptian revival jewelry, as well as use of ancient stones such as carnelian, lapis, and chalcedony. The emerging technology of the time was an influence in the speed motifs in jewelry, like arrows, parallel lines, autos, panthers and gazelles.
