Visit the fabulous 1940s and 1950s . This is the era of fringe necklaces, designer signed glitzy jewelry and the emergence of the Retro era in jewelry. Metals were popular- copper, silver and brass made into floral sprays, silver bracelets, copper jewerly and metal chain necklaces. Primitive was in as was patriotic jewelry during WWII. The postwar era brought us fabulous imported beads from Germany and Japan.

Mexican silver became really popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Many Mexican silver artisans achieved prominence and are now highly collectible. Scandinavian silver and Native American silver jewelry was popular as well. Jewelry styles reflected more primitive and ethnic influence during time. Carved wood pins, bakelite and lucite pins were all the rage. Beaded necklaces from German and Japanese imports were plentiful.
